UFC in my house

Ian has a favorite past time.

It involves bugging the h-e-double hockey sticks out of his sister until she screams at the top of her lungs. Of course since she is 1, we typically have to go around replacing light bulbs and other glass fixtures that have exploded once she is done.
Recently Ainsley has started sticking up for herself. She will stand up and say no to Ian and walk away. Well, I don’t know if she has been watching cage fighting with Daddy at night or what but today when the annoyance started she jumped up, gave a warrior yell, and then jumped on her brother.
Ian was so shocked that he didn’t know what to do. Ainsley was doing quite an impressive ground and pound manueavur and Ian was doing his best to shield himself. I finally had to go over and pull her off him, which surprisingly was not an easy feat.
Once the feathers had settled we did a damage assessment. Ainsley walked away unscathed, but poor Ian will have an ouchie to explain to his friends at school next week.

  1. Love it!
When my middle daughter was little she and her older brother (by 18 months) had a similar situation. Becca was I believe 2 1/2 at the time, she had enough of the big brother teasing and popped him one right in the eye! He had a beautiful black eye. The teasing stopped for a while.

I chose to take the outcome of the beating as I will never have to worry when she is old enough to date. When she says “no” she will be able to back it up! 🙂

How is your son feeling after the trauma?

  2. Awww! Poor Ian! That’s not funny – but it sure is funny! Maybe big brother will think twice about bugging his sister the next time! LOL

  3. Well, I guess it was bound to happen. Maybe he’ll think twice about messing with his sister. Although that is a nasty little ouchie. I hope it doesn’t hurt too bad.

My daughter loves watching UFC with her dad. She is only 2 but you can tell she is learn a bit from it. It's cute when she wants me to hold my hands up so she can punch them. I wounder what will happen if she goes to daycare and gets hit.

  6. Super tough…always good to show off the war wounds :)Super tough…always good to show off the war wounds 🙂
