In our household there are 4 girls and 2 boys. This week we are down to 2 girls and 1 boy, literally split in half.
My husband is on a training deployment for the week and my older daughters are staying at their mom’s while he is gone since I will be working several days and there would be no one home.
Anyway, tonight we were eating a gourmet dinner of grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with fruit, and I was telling Ian that while Daddy was away he would be “the man of the house.” Apparently, this is not the thing to say to a 40lb 3 year old.
After dinner, Ian went and sat at his Daddy’s computer in the den. He called me in and this is what ensued.
Ian: “Mommy, I have work to do can you get on the computer for me?”
Me: “You mean you want to play some games?”
Ian: “No, I have work to do.”
Me: “What kind of work?”
Ian: “Man of the house work.”
Me: “Oh, well what else does the man of the house do?”
Ian: “Nothing, he just sits at the computer and Googles.”
This may not be funny to anyone else, but I laughed SO hard that I had tears streaming down my face. Why you ask? Because when my husband comes home from work you can find him sitting at his computer, “Googling.”
My kid doesn’t miss a thing!
