Attack of the Monkey Munch!

So if you have followed me on Twitter, Facebook or even are lucky enough to see me on a daily basis, you have heard me talk over and over again about Monkey Munch.

It is this lovely, delicious snack that I heard about and Google’d the recipe and HAD to make it.

Little did I know that once I made it, I wouldn’t be able to get enough. It has become so bad that I don’t even want to share it with my kids!

Now it’s your turn! I need to give this recipe to someone else so I can clean my hands of it…

WHATEVER! I just figure I’ll spread the wealth. Much like the spread of my rear end from eating this stuff!

Here we go..

Get a BIG bowl! Spray it with cooking spray. This makes clean up quite a bite easier.

Pour in 9 cups of Chex cereal and set aside. I used a combination of Rice and Corn Chex.

Next you will microwave 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, ½ cup smooth peanut butter and ¼ cup butter for 1 minute on high.

Stir it then microwave for 30 seconds or until smooth. Once smooth add 1 teaspoon vanilla, stir until mixed.

Pour the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over cereal and stir until coated.

Pour mixture into kitchen garbage bag. You can use a large Ziploc but it’s such a large amount that the next step is easier if you have some extra room.

Sift up to 1 and ½ cups of powered sugar onto cereal, close up the bag and gently shake until coated. (I didn’t use that much. I just added a bit, shook the bag and then checked to see if it was adequately coated.)

Spread out the finished mixture on a waxed paper lined baking tray and let it cool completely.

Store it in Ziploc bags or a sealed bowl.

It’s only lasted about 4 days in my house so take this as your warning. If you love chocolate and peanut butter you very well may make yourself sick from this stuff but it’s SO worth it!

Yes, it's soooo good, but beware when feeding it to husbands. If they lack restraint, it causes noxious gas, lol.
