Oooooh, fun! Okay, so here's my best travel tip: we took the boys to Costa Rica for Christmas when they were almost two and almost five. Since the trip was also our family Christmas present, and we actually traveled on Christmas day, we skipped presents except for "stocking stuffers." We packed a small backpack for each of them with a bunch of individually wrapped gifts - small toys, flashlights, new crayons & coloring books - and told them that they could open a new present every 30 min or so on the plane. Everything in there was something they could use on the plane or on the trip - and guess what? That seriously kept them happy for MOST of the 8 hours of travel, since there was always something to look forward to! Also, if you can bring a carseat on the plane, it makes a world of difference. We just buckled A in like we were getting in the car and he was good to go. You guys will have a blast!

How Awesome! DC really is a fun place to tag along to, by the way! A blog-friend of mine comes once a year or so - she and the girls do museums, the zoo, et cetera while he's stuck in meetings.
