Cirque du Soleil : Kooza

by Tina Kelley on 3, March 2010

Many of us are familiar with Cirque du Soleil; the spectacular story telling, acrobatics and more.

But if you are like me, your most familiar with their shows that show in Vegas. Some of these shows are a bit risque albeit entertaining but not something you would necessarily take your family to.

Well, then I have great news if you think like me. Cirque du Soleil is presenting a new show this year called Kooza.

Kooza tells the story of The Innocent, a sad loner who is searching out his place in the world. During his travels he encounters many humorous characters which add to the story. Better than the story is the fact that Kooza marks the return of Cirque du Soleil’s roots in acrobatics and clowning. Because of this it offers a more kid friendly atmosphere. Families will be amazed at theĀ  electrifying and exotic visual world full of surprises, thrills, chills, audacity and total involvement.

Between strength and fragility, laughter and smiles, turmoil and harmony, KOOZA explores themes of fear, identity, recognition and power.

As our own children grow older they will be facing the same plight as The Innocent; trying to find their place in the world. What better way to open a dialogue than by experiencing such an awesome performance!

Kooza is currently touring in the U.S. and Canada. Check out their site for show dates and times (not to mention tickets!)

Upcoming cities include:

San Diego, CA (currently playing)

Portland, OR (April)

Seattle, WA (June)

Vancouver, BC (July)
