Hair, Dress and a Date

My youngest step daughter is fairly quiet. She’s not really into getting dressed up or being too girly.

But she’s still a girl and let’s face it; there are times when we just need to get glam’d up!

Last week was Senior Prom. In a whirlwind it was decided that she would be going. I have to admit I was excited that she was going and experiencing it but then I got bummed because she had decided that she was going to get ready at a friends house. I didn’t want to rain on her parade so I kept that to myself. I mean I’m not her mom so I don’t have a real claim to being able to experience this with her.

Two days before the big event she broke the news that she had decided it would just be easier to get ready at home.

I can’t tell you how stoked I was. And then that was multiplied when she asked me to do her hair. Of course I played it off because I’m super cool but inside I was giddy.

By the time she left for Prom she had spent over 90 minutes sitting in a chair while being showered with attention from the Hubs and I. By the time she left for Prom my feet hurt, my back hurt, and I wouldn’t have traded the experience for anything.
