Must engage butt into gear…

My son has officially been out of school for a week.

And we haven’t done ANYTHING!

Summer Activities

No really, you think I’m kidding but I’m not. With the funky non summer weather we have been having it’s been really hard to get in the jive of things. But I’m ready to get our summer in gear. My plan is to sit down and create a calendar of things to do. Ideally I will have each day planned but I know that’s not a reality. With 2 kids things have to be able change so I am just going to plan a couple outings each week and then the rest of the week can be filled with visiting the local park or perhaps having play dates with friends.

There are several special things that are a MUST for this summer. Mainly because I want to do things that I enjoy as well.

And of course the majority of these are going to cost some money but my kids are of the age now where I really want them to experience new things and 3 of the places they have never been to before. I grew up near the Oregon Coast so heading back there with my kids in tow is really exciting to me. In addition to the aquarium I hope to hit the bayfront and visit the shops and stop and eat lunch at Moe’s. I haven’t been back to Newport in several years so this is really something I’m looking forward to.

Our first outing will be the Enchanted Forest in July and I hope to be going with some bloggy friends. So check back in for our Summer adventures and I’d love to hear about what you have planned to combat the Summer time blues!

  1. Well, you know about my summer craziness coming up. I really want to do some fun things after we get settled, but it’s hard to make plans from 1,000 miles away. I’m convinced that we’ll make it work, though. :o)

  2. Sounds like a good plan. Our summer plans entail a lot of company. Living in a tourist area on the water attracts a lot of relatives and it’s fun to enjoy things in our area we normally wouldn’t. Here is what we have planned.

    Fly Wheelers Show
    4th of July in town
    Trips to the Library
Visiting the Hatchery where they have free nature programs
See North More fee nature programs
    and the beach!
