31DBBB Challenge: Day 1

You may have noticed that I have a new little button over on that there right hand side bar.

ProBlogger 31DBBBThat’s right, as if I haven’t buried myself enough, I’m taking part in the SITS ProBlogger: 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge. This means that everyday for the next, let’s say, 31 days I will be going through the book learning great things to hopefully my make little home here in the blogosphere that much better. And I’m not just doing this for me. I want to make it better for all of you who are so wonderful to come and visit me, and hopefully not just because of my awesome giveaways. 😉

So today we were challenged with creating an “elevator pitch” for our blog. I’d never even heard of an elevator pitch before so I should have known I was doomed from the start.

I will say that it really started getting me thinking about where I want my blog to go. What I want it’s purpose to be. Then once I started thinking about it the more I realized that my blog has no direction. Or at least it feels that way.

So here we go…

Short Pitch:
“Where moms, step-moms, military wives, and crazy ladies can find solace. Or at least someone to laugh at.”

Longer Pitch:
“Hi, I’m Tina! I’m the proud and often frazzled mom of two rambunctious kids under 5, who work hard to give me gray hair every single day. I’m also the wicked (but in a good way) stepmother of two lovely young ladies (I can’t say girls anymore since the are 18 and 19,) thanks to being married to my wonderful Airman husband.

When I’m not busy running around and can find some time to myself, typically in the bathroom or a dark closet, I like to spend my time reading great books. I’m the first to admit it’s my way of escaping reality, even if it’s just for a few blissful moments!

So take a look around. If you lead a crazy life like mine perhaps you’ll find solace, or at least someone to laugh at. 😉

There you have it! I’d love to hear your thoughts.

  1. Great job! I really like how your longer pitch was conversational-to the reader…I’m thinking I need to go back and re-work mine!

Your blog is so creative, I really like it- the name/theme..really nice.

-I get the hiding part, I hide in the bathroom too…

  2. I LOVE your short pitch, especially the last little bit about having a laugh. I really respect someone that’s able to not take herself too seriously and is able to laugh at herself!

  3. Love the short pitch and now that I’ve seen your longer one I’ve realized I should probably mention in mine that I’m the mother of four. Not just trying to survive life. 🙂 Way to go.
