Ride of my life.. to date.

I still have so much that I am digesting from the EVO ’10 conference back in June. I know it’s crazy. It’s been over a month and I still have notes I’m going through and setting plans in place to implement some things that I hope will better not just the blog but myself as well.

A major thing I did occurred at the closing party at the Park City Mountain Resort. I conquered my fears and went on the most thrilling ride of my life.

So let me set the stage for you..

Park City Mt Resort Zipline

See that arrow near the top of the picture? It’s pointing to a platform, I know you can barely see it. Well that’s because it’s ALL the way up the mountain! Mind you, I was zoomed in all the way or else you probably wouldn’t even be able to see it. So that little platform is where my journey began.

Did you hear that buzzing sound? Yep, that is the sound the cable makes when you are flying down a mountain at about 50MPH..

But more astounding than that flying ride was the opportunity to meet some more wonderful ladies! Two of them I have been watching with awe since I began blogging. Jenny, @jennyonthespot and Laurie, @tipjunkie were so much fun! Laurie and I bonded over our fear of going down that string in the sky. And I was SO appreciative of Crystal, @travlersbarista who was kind enough to offer to head down with me instead of making me go with just some random person.

I cannot put into words how much this conference really “evolved” me. I’m so much more conscious of my writing and being authentic for not just myself but my readers. I’ve realized that ultimately I’m writing for me. If I start writing for someone else then the passion I have dwindles.

You can see more of my photos over on flickr.

  1. Okay … blog critique (not post content related)

I like the look of your blog. Very clean and well organized. I like that the most recent post is here in full rather than partial (forced click through). Only negative (if it’s that) is that with the two sidebars your page is very wide and I don’t see the right sidebar at all w/o scrolling over there except for a hint of color on the inside edge.

    • Thank you so much Beth! Can I ask.. Were you able to see my complete header or did you have to scroll to see that as well? I ask because my header is the same width as all 3 of my columns. Also which browser did you view the site with?

  2. PS – I LOVE your post footer! I ought to figure out how to do something like that! Very cool!

  3. Cool. I like the zipline video. i watched jennyonthespot’s video and actually saw U kiss the ground. it was AWESOME! 🙂

Blog critique. I too love your header! But I have to scroll past to see your sidebars.
I have seen your blog in Mozilla AND Google.

But I absolutely LOVE your blog! And your video productions…Someday…Man that will be me.

I’m saving up for a WP design. But for now, I’ll stick with Blogger. it works for me.
