On my birthday last month I sat down and really started evaluating my physical health.
After some serious reflection I made the decision to apply to become a Mamavation Mom. You can see my video application HERE
I also decided that regardless if I was chosen or not, I was going to make some serious changes in my life and be a better role model for my kids.
My journey starts January 3rd. I head back to the gym and start training for a 5k that I will run in March. I am committed to doing it and there will be NO backing out. In addition to that I have also set a goal of eating healthier and losing some much needed poundage. Now, I am going to be honest and say that I have not gotten rid of every sweet thing in the house. I know myself and if I were to try to cut myself off from those types of foods I would crave them more. Instead I’ll be practicing moderation, moderation, moderation. Instead of snacking on crappy foods all day, my goal is to cut it back to once a day and have it be in the middle of the day instead of at night which makes it harder to burn off the calories.
Today I went shopping for healthier snack foods including fruits and veggies. When I got home I prepped everything! Veggies were washed and cut, then stored in containers in the fridge. In the past I have failed because I didn’t do this and when I wanted something to snack on, the healthier versions would need work to make them ready to eat and I would choose the easy way out with packaged snacked.
This post is actually acting as my “pledge” to the Mamavation Sistahood. I’m pledging because I know that I will need support from ALL sides. My family and friends are on board but because I spend a lot of my time online working it’s a great way to get additional support when I’m on my computer. I just want to give back to the sista’s as much as they have already given me. They are truly selfless. I guess when it really comes down to it we are all in this together!
And now to be eligible for to win the Mamavation Blog Carnival prize sponsored by GameStop. We were asked for ways to work out without leaving the house.
First, I absolutely LOVE the game Just Dance on the Wii. We have all 3 versions of it and play them daily. It really is a great workout and it’s a game that we can all play together. My other favorite thing to do is get down on the floor and play with the kids. They love when we play “airplane”. I lay on my back and lift up my kids with my legs, (their tummy rests on my feet.) This is a super great ab and leg workout.
So thanks for checking out my post. If you would like to show you support for me in my quest to become one of 2 Mamavation moms please visit the Mamavation Facebook Page and leave a post letting them know you support me or send the follow tweet.
Oh, and of course….
