I’m the Tortoise

You know, in the story the Tortoise and the Hare.. Yep, I would be the epitome of slow and steady wins the race.

I might not be losing weight very fast but I am losing weight and that is really empowering. I’ve been asked about 7 times in the last week if I had lost weight and that my face was looking thin. That is such an awesome thing to hear! It puts such a huge smile on my face and really kicks me in the butt to keep working hard.

My pants are now fitting a lot looser. I’ve been shopping for a good sale so I can finally purchase some that won’t fall down without even unbuttoning them.
Ok, so to the real reason for the post.. Drum Roll….

Last week I set a couple of goals for myself. I was able to accomplish running a mile under 12:30 which was awesome. But sadly, I couldn’t complete the 5 day Fast Forward from Cinch. The sourness of the plain yogurt and the raspberries made it too darn hard. I did however discover that I love scrambled eggs with spinach. This has become my daily staple. It’s simply delish.

This week will be a lot harder. We are painting the interior of our house.. our entire house. Which means I have no living room, which means no TV or Wii, and no kitchen. I’m not able to cook lunch or dinner for my family which means eating out for lunch and dinner! UGH! I’m planning on doing some serious research on the restaurants that we have around town and finding all the low calorie options. Even at that I’m not looking forward to all the expense and worry about eating out for a week. Oh well, I guess it’s only for a week and then it will be back to normal.

  2. Good for you!! I’m on the same path as you..slow and steady! I’m doing the Couch to 5K program, and was doing pretty well until I hurt my leg. Hope I can get back at it soon!

  3. Yay! Great loss girl. Slow and steady is healthy… no worries. You are doing it and that is the important part.

    Good luck with all your painting and eating out. Slip Subway in if you can… easy to check those calories. FYI, watch out for the sodium in the chicken from chicken salads. It can be killer and make you feel all puffy. PF Chang’s is another good one, order the Buddha’s feast with rice and steamed veggies. So yummy!
