Music for Pretty Little Liars

Music plays a huge part in my life. It creates the soundtrack of my life. From my workout to chores around the house, you can figure out my mood just by the music I choose to play.

Television shows are no different. The right music can evoke the emotions a particular scene is trying to convey.

With a drama like Pretty Little Liars from ABC Family, the music needs to not only do this but also have music that the audience will want to listen to over and over again. The newly released soundtrack from Pretty Little Liars is just that. Featuring artists like Colbie Calliat and Ben’s Brother, the 11 tracks are a moody blend that are perfect for a rainy afternoon or an early Spring day.

Two of my favorite songs are “Secret” by The Pierces, which is also the title song, and “Jack and Jill” by Katie Herzig.

“Secret” is just the perfect song to start off each show. The song has a mysterious quality to it and it sort of makes you want to sit at the edge of your seat and pay closer attention because at any moment you are going to be let in on something fantastic.

“Jack and Jill” is more upbeat and has a tragic, romantic appeal to it. I love Ms. Herzig smooth and mellow voice. Just listening to it puts me in a euphoric, dreamy state.

Be sure to catch Pretty Little Liars on Mondays 8/7c on ABC Family, and don’t forget to visit iTunes to preview songs from the soundtrack. You can pick up a copy of the album here:

*Disclosure: I have been hired by Warner Bros. WBWord division to promote the Pretty Little Liars Soundtrack.*

  1. I am a huge fan of TV shows that go the extra step of using good music. I loved (and miss) Scrubs. I think they had the best music of all time!
