The World isn’t so Small in Smallville!

When it comes to recreating heroes from comic books, one of the most important areas is making sure that the rivalry between the villain and hero transitions from the book to the screen.

This is what makes Smallville one of my favorite shows. I mean for starters it’s about Superman and there is no greater rivalry than the one between Clark Kent and Lex Luthor.

Once best friends and now growing enemies the tension that occurs on screen creates for a dynamic, suspense filled forty minutes of television. 🙂

In the season 6 premiere you really get a sense of the battle Clark goes through when coming to terms with being a hero and essentially losing his friend. He battles Lex once more (although Lex has been inhabited by General Zod) and at the end of the show Clark realizes that the life of a super hero is a basically lonely life. Which leads me to believe that perhaps the biggest rivalry isn’t between Superman and Lex but rather Superman and Clark.

With 10 seasons, Smallville is a series that you can watch over again just to get all these great insights!

Luckily, you can relive the epic battles and the iconic rivalries with the ‘Smallville: The Complete Series’ DVD! Includes 62 discs, never before seen production art and behind the scenes photos from the set!

So, what are you waiting for?!? Go check it out!

*Disclosure: have been hired by Warner Bros WBWord division to raise awareness for the Smallville DVD release.*
