Rounding out National Dairy Month #SafewayDairy

I started out the beginning of the month talking of National Dairy Month and a great recipe I found at Safeway.com.

Now the month is over I figure what better way to close it out than with another fun food that incorporates some dairy!

With Summer quickly approaching in the Pacific Northwest, yes I said approaching because it’s still raining here on some days, my kids are ready for some sweet treats that they can enjoy on those days when we find ourselves spending more time outside than in.

We can easily have a picnic outside but I wanted something that was healthy and that they would view as a sweet Summer treat. So I decided to make my very own frozen yogurt!

Last Summer I got this cool popsicle maker thing. I’m sure it has a technical name but darned if I know what it is. We’ve made your standard kool-aid popsicles in it before but those are so one dimensional. What could be better on a warm summer day but some frozen yogurt with chunks of fresh strawberries mixed it? Nothing I do believe. 🙂

What’s the last step? Enjoy them while taking a break from bike riding in the neighborhood!

I hope you and your family have been able to enjoy National Dairy Month, but don’t let the fun end! Keep on incorporating dairy every day if you can!

  1. YUM, looks like a fun and easy treat!

  2. I just got an ice cream maker from Williams Sonoma that does sorbet & froyo too. I make my own yogurt so I am totally looking to my fully homemade frozen yogurt! The little things that make me happy 🙂

  3. Those look delicious. We have been making a lot of dishes with strawberries this summer, including smoothies. We’ll have to try this one next.

  4. Why do you and your delicious snacks live so far away? Guess I’ll have to go and make some of my own…

  5. The popsicle maker looks cool. I want one. We love homemade popsicles and ice cream around here.
