Playing it Up with #PlayDatePlace

So, I told you all about the new Kmart Playdate Place a couple weeks ago in this post.

I have to say I have had a blast reading the articles, and it’s really inspired me to want to get together with my girlfriends and their kids more often now that summer is here.

Thanks to being a part of a Kmart shopper insights study by Collective Bias I was able to host a super fun playdate and showcase some of the toys that have been reviewed on the Kmart Playdate Place site.

My kids had a great time picking out toys to share with their friends. Since I have a boy and a girl there were some disagreements about what exactly to get but one thing they agreed on was the Nerf Super Soaker Thunderstorm and Scatterblast.

With that in mind I figured what better playdate to have than a water themed one!

The picture on the right is my daughter and her best friend. They are quite the pair. They wanted to skate together so they decided to each put a skate on. Didn’t quite work out the way they hoped.

The little ones had fun too.

Besides the 2 different kinds of Nerf Super Soakers and the skates, we also played with a Razor Graffiti scooter, and a Maui Toys Hopper.

We heard tons of giggling and screaming. That was only quieted when we brought out corn dogs for lunch. 🙂

If you haven’t checked out Kmart Playdate Place yet I definitely recommend it. I’ve signed up for their newsletter so I don’t miss a thing!

Also, what better place to have a playdate but in your backyard! As luck would have it Kmart is having a Backyard Makeover sweepstakes until July 20th. Just go to the Kmart Facebook Page and enter for your chance win a makeover valued at over $4000!!

  1. You have clearly taught them to share – maybe one skate is a bit much, right? Love the idea of a party with water guns as part of a theme!

(And for me, nothing spells party like a good corndog with just mustard. Yum!)

  2. I just entered the contest! I could show you a picture of my pathetic backyard, but I’m too embarrassed. 🙂
