Right before Thanksgiving I was invited to an event at Estilo Salon in Vancouver, WA.
At the time, Estilo had only been open for about 6 weeks and they decided to invite some local influential bloggers to check out their services.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t excited about going. I mean, who wouldn’t be?!?
Even though I had just recently had my hair cut, I wasn’t super happy with it and I decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to put the fate of my hair completely in someone else’s hands.
The salon is located in the Grand Central Shopping Center and I will admit, the salon looked quite small from the outside. This lends to my surprise when I walked in and it was as if the salon doubled in size. With a beautiful color scheme and modern furniture, Estilo quickly lets you know that you are in good hands and the name wasn’t just a clever play on words. (Estilo in spanish means “style”.)
Knowing that you are in good hands when it comes to your hair is super important for women. Yes, hair grows back and color fades, but can you honestly say that the last time you got a bad haircut you just shrugged it off? If you are like me you probably cried, thought your husband was going to divorce you because you weren’t pretty anymore, and wanted to become a hermit who never left their house. EVER.
Thankfully, since every single stylist and aesthetician has an average of 15 years of experience, you can trust their skills and knowledge. And they are all part of a team, so if you want a cut and color not only will your stylist consult with you about the best cut, but a colorist will come over to go over coloring options.
For my experience I was assigned to Tina. That’s a very trustworthy name if I do say so myself. 🙂 Tina and I talked quite a bit about my hair and what I wanted to do with it. I was brutally honest. I stink at picking out hairstyles for myself. I don’t know what looks good for the shape of my face or the type of hair I have. To my surprise Tina told me that actually with my face shape and hair I could pretty much have any hairstyle I wanted. She then asked if I wanted to go for something a little more radical when compared to my current style. It was at this point that I told her I was completely in her hands and to do with me what she wished. So the cutting began.
After my hair was cut and styled the colorist came over to talk about colors. Again, I told her to do as she wished.
Lavonne, one of the owners, actually did my color and I had a great time talking to her and learning more about the salon. In addition to having a knowledgable team, all of the stylists are educators for TIGI, the international haircare company. Their salon is actually set up to hold educational seminars, one of the walls is movable and enables them to seat up to 35 people. Eventually they will also have 2 interns who will be able to learn right along side these skilled stylists.
Seriously, I could go on and on about this place. I was amazed with the teamwork and professionalism each of them displayed. My only regret was that I didn’t have enough time to meet with their aesthetician Debra for a facial. She did sit next to me while I was getting my cut and we got to chat for a while.
So, are you wondering what I look like now?? If you follow me on Facebook (which you should because you get info on giveaways before I post them) then you know I absolutely love my hair! Each day when I wake up and blow dry it I fall in love with the cut and color all over again. Here we go:
Isn’t it cute?!?! Yes, I may be a bit biased but I can’t help it. I have a LOT of hair so Tina took out a lot of the bulk and cut in a ton of layers. This picture does not do the color justice in my opinion. I have gotten so many compliments, and I don’t care who you are, when you get a compliment about your hair you always seem to walk a little taller. Know what I’m sayin’?
This picture shows the coloring a little bit better.
If you are in the area and looking for a new place do get your ‘do’ done then definitely check out Estilo Salon. They are a higher end salon when it comes to price but this is definitely one area that you get what you pay for.
Also, check out their Facebook page. They list great discounts and promotions, plus pictures of some of their latest work.
With that said, Estilo wants to treat one of my local readers to a DAY OF BEAUTY! That’s right you will be able spend the entire day getting pampered by these lovely men and women. The package includes a manicure or pedicure, cut, color, and facial services including waxing. (This is approximately a $375 value!)
