Today my father in law passed away after a long and hard battle with lung cancer.
Although I know he is in a much better place now, a place where he will no longer feel any pain and a place where he is now able to do all the things he loved that the cancer had robbed him of, it still hurts my heart.
He has left a void that we will fill with wonderful memories.
Memories that I can’t help but thank him for because these will be the things I share with my kids over and over again as they grow up.
So, Francis, thank you.
Thank you for being a fighter.
Thank you for being manly enough to cry when the mood struck you.
Thank you for wearing your heart on your sleeve.
Thank you for always having a smile at the ready.
Thank you for loving your grandchildren so completely.
Thank you for teaching your grandson to fish.
Thank you for showing your grand daughters how special they are.
Most of all, thank you for never letting a moment pass you by to tell your family you love them.
We love you, miss you, and can’t wait to see you again.
