Oregon Garden – Fun Year Round!

This post is FAR overdue.

I’ve been sitting on this pictures since last October and for one reason or another something always came up that prevented me from posting. But now that Spring is quickly approaching I knew that really it’s the perfect time to write it.

So, last October, (yes, October,) the family I were invited to check out Family Harvest Days at the Oregon Garden. We figured it would be fun since they had all kinds of crafts and activities for families to partake in.

Truth be told, I have only ever been to the Oregon Garden once before, in the late Spring. I thought it was absolutely beautiful and wondered how going in October could possibly compare.

Well, really there is no comparison. Granted there weren’t a ton of colorful flowers in bloom, but they made up for it with all the great decorations and the wonderful fun. From painting pumpkins to gourd bowling, each station enthralled the kids and they couldn’t wait to get to the next station.

Just a few pics or our great time.

But you know, Oregon Garden is great year round! Let’s start with the great Junior Gardner’s Club. For just $50 for the year your child can experience not just plants, but SO much more.

They also have their well known BrewFest at the end of April where you can experience what Oregon is known for, microbrews!

Not to mention their Barn Dance and Pig Roast in September.

But wait, what about something special for the ladies? Oregon Garden is hosting the Silverton Ladies Night on Friday, April 13th. The event is a fundraiser for the Silverton Chamber of Commerce, but most importantly it will be a night filled with fun, friends, and SHOPPING!

That’s right, there will be 30 merchants from throughout the area with everything from clothing to scrapbooking and home decor to fitness. Merchants from Silverton include Whimsey Etc. Boutique, Premier Designs Jewelry, Moonstone Spa and The Mercantile; while those from Salem include Funky Monkey, Tan Republic and High Priestess Piercing & Tattoo.

The theme for the event is Under the Big Top. The Oregon Garden pavilion will be transformed into a circus big top where you can experience traditional circus games where you are guaranteed to walk away with a prize. There is also a raffle in which the winner will walk away with a diamond! Not to mention great music provided by Ringmaster and DJ Doc Titus and last but not least, the event will also feature a mixology class and magician, among other highlights. (Must be 21 years of older to attend.)

Tickets are available online or at the door but just know that you get a break when you buy in advance. 🙂

*Disclosure: My family and I were given passes to visit the Oregon Garden in October. No compensation was given for featuring the other events. As always, my stories, my thoughts, my life.*

  1. Looks like you had a grad time! I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve lived down the road from the Oregon Garden for almost 4 years now, and STILL haven’t been there!
