Although I’m not doing an official Holiday Gift Guide this year, I really wanted to showcase some great products that come through my mailbox that I think would make great holiday gifts this season.
This particular gift is something that I also showcased last year and would be a perfect gift for the adults on your list.
Now get your mind out of the gutter, it’s not that type of adult product.
This is a membership to the California Wine Club.
Be honest. Many of us partake in spirits during the holiday season anyway, the great thing about CWC is the fact that it’s a gift that, if you choose, can keep on giving. There are 4 different clubs to choose from including Premier, Signature Series, International Selections and Aged Cabernet Series. You can read more about each of these selections at www.cawineclub.com. Remember what I talked about, how it can be the gift that keeps on giving if you choose for it to be? Well, that comes along with the fact that you can gift a month, 2 months, 3 months, all the way up to 12 months of membership!
Each month the giftee will receive some excellent selections of wines as well as an issue of Uncorked, which tells the receiver a bit about the wines in their shipment. And if that weren’t enough, there are even some delicious recipes that would go great with the wine.
CWC actually hooked me up with a 2 months membership, and I gotta tell you, it couldn’t have come at a better time. I was actually on a drinking hiatus for 7 weeks and wouldn’t you know that my first shipment arrived the day the hiatus was officially OVER!
I don’t care who you are. When your UPS man shows up at your door with a box that you have to sign for and then whispers that he thinks it’s wine, you get a little excited.
This month my shipment included some selections from the Robledo Family Winery, a Sauvignon Blanc and a Tempranillo. Now I am a white wine kinda gal. Red wines do not float my boat so I didn’t partake in any of the Tempranillo. My husband did though and really seemed to enjoy it. The Sauvignon Blanc was a bit dry for my taste, but let me give you a disclaimer. I am by no means wine savvy. I actually just started drinking wine a little over a year ago. I lean more toward the sweeter dessert wines. Just who I am. I do, however, like trying out different wines because I’m a true believer that you gotta try something once. In our house we call it a “no thank you bite” or in this case a “no thank you drink.”
So, is there someone in your life that would enjoy receiving a gift like this? I’m sure there is. Be sure to visit www.cawineclub.com.
