Santa’s Workshop at the Oregon Garden

oregon garden santa workshopI love this time of year.

I truly believe that there is something magical about the Pacific Northwest this time of year. Perhaps it’s because Oregon produces the most Christmas trees each year. (Chances are, that tree you have up in your house (unless it’s fake) it’s from Oregon.) Or perhaps it’s because we have mountains a plenty surrounding us that we can go play on.

No, I think the real reason is because this time of year we are in no short supply of great family activities to experience.

This year the Oregon Garden is putting on Santa’s Workshop on November 30th-December 2nd. That’s right, this weekend only!

So many wonderful things are planned and the event is free with your paid admission price to the garden.
The fun kicks off each day at Noon and lasts until 8pm. Check out the great stuff that is available:

  • Live Reindeer!
  • Photos with Santa (check times)
  • Holiday Stories Read by Mrs. Clause (each day at 3pm)
  • Crafts – painting picture frame ornaments, creating button snowflake ornaments & jingle bell wreath ornaments, making an advent chain and more!
  • Kids’ Activities – writing letters to Santa & kids’ games
  • Festive Holiday Decor
  • Holiday Shopping with Artisan Vendors

*The cost of some activities above is not included with admission.
**Please remember to bring cash for activities, vendors, and refreshments!

If your wondering about food there will be plenty available. The Oregon Garden Resort will be selling delicious holiday food like turkey and cranberry sliders at the event. The Visitor Center Cafe will also be open and always has tasty treats. There is even the Fireside Lounge and Garden View Restaurant located at the Resort.

Speaking of the Oregon Garden Resort! Why not make a weekend of this! The resort has put together a special package just for this weekend and there is still time to reserve your room.

For just $95 you will get 1 night accommodation, admission to the Oregon Garden (plus tickets to Santa’s Workshop), a holiday ornament, coffee or hot chocolate from the Garden Cafe, and a full American Buffet Breakfast! This is a great deal and just the excuse to make it a tradition.

So bundle up the kiddos and head on out to Silverton this weekend and experience some Oregon magic.

  1. I’ve been to the Oregon Garden a few times, but didn’t realize there was a hotel with a restaurant as well. I’ll have to stop by the next time we head down to Silverton.
