Savoring the “Sweet Moments” {ENDED}

I have a sweet tooth.

There are times when I wish I was allergic to chocolate because I crave it so.

The really hard thing about having a sweet tooth is that now I am trying to get healthier and that includes losing some pounds which were caused by my chocolate consumption.

Now, I know better than to completely cut out all sweets. This has lead to my downfall more times than I care to admit. This time around I know that in order to succeed in my goal I have to allow myself to satisfy my sweet took, but in MODERATION.

Pillsbury LogoLucky for me Pillsbury is now offering an indulgence that has just 60 calories and curbs the craving of the chocolate monster that resides in my belly. Their Sweet Moments Brownies are bite-sized morsels of bliss. They are layered in fudge or caramel and did I mention they are only 60 calories per brownie!?! These little masterpieces can be found in the refrigerated baked goods section at your grocery store, (by the refrigerated cookie dough.) They come in a bag so you can easily reach in the fridge and grab one on the go.

Sweet Moment logoIf you’re looking for something a little more decadent then they have you covered as well. Their Sweet Moments Molten Lava Brownies come in individual bowls, also in fudge or caramel and the best part.. they are ready to devour after just 15 seconds in the microwave! YUM!

Another great thing is Pillsbury wants you to share the Sweet Moments with a friend! Until the end of this October, (you have 1 week so start sending away,) head to Pillsbury.com or visit the Pillsbury Fan Page and send a special E-Card to friends that includes a $1.50 coupon for Sweet Moments. Just Whip It! {ENDED}

Although Fall is quickly approaching, we are still trying to hold on to anything that reminds us of Summer.

As part of my goal to provide myself and my family with more healthy food options, this summer I traded in our ice cream for frozen yogurt. However, frozen yogurt can get kind of spendy, especially when you have 2 kids at home that will use any and every excuse to get a treat. :)

Yoplait WhipsI took to buying actual yogurt and then freezing it. Through My Blog Spark, I was given a free coupon to purchase and try out Yoplait Whips. Whips comes in 9 different flavors; Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Raspberry, Key Lime Pie, Lemon Burst, Orange Créme, Peaches ‘N Cream, Raspberry Mousse, Strawberry Mist, and Vanilla Créme. We picked up a Peaches ‘N Cream, Strawberry Mist, and Vanilla Créme. When we got home we stuck it in the freezer to enjoy later that night.

This has become an evening staple for us now. I will say though that I have started bogarting the Whips for myself. The kids still get yogurt but the Whips are my special treat. :D

By the way. That cool cone thing Ainsley is eating out of, is part of the prize pack that you now have the chance to win!

Going, Going, Yoplait Go-Gurt {ENDED}

Ian started kindergarten this week.
My baby boy is in kindergarten!

And as if that weren’t enough, Ainsley is going to 3 year old preschool 2 days a week. I am beside myself!

On one hand I can’t believe that both of my kids are growing up and are going to school, on the other hand I am super excited that I will have 3 hours, 2 days of week that will be mine. MINE! To do with what I want, even though I’ll probably just end up doing chores around the house. But at least they will be uninterrupted chores.

That being said, one of my new responsibilities this year is making sure the kids have a snack each day. It’s not lunch, but a snack that they will have when they get in from recess. The picked out special snack bags for the year.

Ian’s snack bag sports Spiderman on the top complete with a holographic type image that he likes to move around to see Spidey swing through the air. Ainsley, being ALL girl, chose a very pink and sparkly bag with a unicorn on the front. It’s even designed to look like a purse instead of a lunch bag. :)

Yoplait Go-gurtFinding things to put in their snack bags has been a bit hard. I want things that are not only healthy but that I know they will eat. That’s where Go-gurt comes in. My kids love yogurt and what better way take it with them than Yoplait Go-gurt. The other great thing is that it can help keep the rest of their snack cold if need be. Just stick the tubes in the freezer and once frozen they will keep the rest of your child’s snack/lunch cold until it’s time for them to eat it. The great thing is even if it’s not completely thawed by the time the lunch bell rings your kids can still enjoy it as a nice dessert!

SnacksFor the first day of school my kids were able to partake in a small PB&J sandwich, goldfish crackers, fig newtons and of course a tube of Go-gurt. When I picked them up there wasn’t anything left. At least I know I picked the right stuff!

Yoplait Go-gurt is offering my readers a special back to school prize pack!

You’re kids will enjoy this pack which comes with an insulated lunch tote, mini water bottle, sandwich keeper, cool breeze pen fan, and some other fun school supplies for the new school year.
