So, my favorite Fed-Ex man knocks on the door and when I open it there sits this HUGE box. I think he saw my eyes get wide in surprise and jokingly remarked “Did you order a person?”

Once I lugged that bad boy inside I got a little scared to open it. I mean, no I hadn’t ordered a person but I had no clue what was in there. I finally struck up the nerve and wouldn’t ya know that inside that big box was ANOTHER big box??

I’ve been Touch’d – Giveaway {ENDED}

I’m a sucker for bath and body products. If it smells good then I want to use it.. :)

Recently I had the opportunity to try out a new bath and body line called Touch’d. What I love most about Touch’d is it’s the brain child of a fellow blogger! Not being able to find products that met her families needs spurred Rachel Ferrucci to develop Touch’d.

I was lucky enough to try out the Organic Sugar Scrub. I loved the blend of the essential oils and the scent. It wasn’t overpowering which other scrubs tend to be. I used this on my legs after shaving to exfoliate and leave my legs really smooth. The scrub did not disappoint. The thing I love about sugar scrub is that it exfoliates and then as you rub the sugar works itself into your legs and is gone. You aren’t left with little bits of stuff on your legs.

So, my fine readers. If you’re interested in getting Touch’d yourself then have I got a deal for you. Exclusively for my readers you can visit Touch’d and receive 25% off your order by using promo code: MadHatter. The code is valid until July 15th.

AND THAT’S NOT ALL!

I also get to give an Organic Sugar Scrub away!

RULES FOR ENTRY:
Visit Touch’d and tell me which product/scent appeals to you.

Mirra, Mirra, on the wall

I was super excited when I was chosen to review the new hair and beauty line by Mirra courtesy of The Kroger Co. and Global Influence.

Mirra Beauty Care products are made with natural ingredients including olive oil, aloe leaf juice, and cranberry, bamboo, honey and chicory root extracts. And trust me I know some of these sound weird to put in these types of products but let me tell you, many of them make the products smell wonderful!

I was sent a multitude of products but I’m going to break them up to talk about them.

Mirra Face and Body ProductsFirst up the beauty products.

Day Cream: Here’s the deal. I have a very oily face and this product was definitely not made for my complexion. I was very moisturizing so if you have normal/dry skin I think this would be great for you. If they came out with a formula made for oily skin I would try it again. In all honesty it made me break out a bit because it really made me oily.

Eye Cream: This I did like. The one area of my face that can get irritated and sometimes drier than the rest of my face is under and to the sides of my eyes. This cream, even when the corners of my eyes were a bit irritated, did not burn or hurt when I put it on. It was actually very soothing and I must say that since using it (2 weeks) the skin around my eyes has not been nearly as sensitive.

Facial Cleanser: This was an exfoliating and detoxifying cleanser with Apricot. I’ve used apricot exfoliating scrubs in the past. I like them very much in terms of getting the dead skin off and making my face super smooth and soft. I liked this cleanser. The scent was very pleasant and actually help invigorate me in the morning. The only think I would change is to add more of the Apricot seeds in oder to help exfoliate more.

Body Wash: Really how can you go wrong with body wash? This was super nourishing for my skin. I actually used it to shave my legs and they came out really smooth. (I usually use conditioner.) I would have like this more if it had more of a scent.

Mirra Hair ProductsAlright, that’s it for the beauty type products. Now onto the hair products.

Shampoo: Here’s the deal. I cannot say enough good things about the shampoo. For starters the smell is WONDERFUL! I don’t know if it’s the Chia and Elder extracts that it draws it’s smell from but I love it. My husband even commented on it. It left my hair feeling clean and soft.

Conditioner: This has the same smell as the shampoo so of course I love it. I don’t use conditioner every day, but every other day. This seemed to keep my hair very well protected and helped make it feel soft and didn’t weigh my hair down as some conditioners can do.

Gel: I just recently started straightening my hair in order to make it look more uniform. (I have straight hair as it is.) I fell in love with this gel. It didn’t take much. I used a little bigger than a pea sized amount and my hair goes past my shoulders. I worked it into my damp hair starting at the back and working my way to the front. Then I blow dried and straightened it. My hair looked super shiny and light.

———-

So there are my thoughts on this batch of products that I was able to try out. All in all I liked more than I disliked. I would definitely buy the eye cream, facial cleanser and all of the hair products.

If you interested in trying out any of the products from Mirra, which also include makeup brushes and additional facial and hair products, they are sold exclusively at the Kroger Family of stores.

But you can win the complete package of goodies that I was able to review! New of course! :)

Be Smokin’ Hot with a Smoky Eye!

I’ve admitted before that there was a time when I couldn’t leave the house without makeup on. Of course I overcame that once I had kids and realized that it just wasn’t feasible to put makeup on when it was just going to get rubbed or sweated off.

BUT.. yes I said but; I’m still a woman and I’m still a wife. There are times when I need to wear makeup to make myself feel pretty. What I love about Bare Escentuals is it’s quick to put on, looks more natural while still covering the red areas of my face and doesn’t rub or sweat off.

I hadn’t bought any of the eye shadow so I was very excited when Bare Escentuals provided me with their Smoky Eye Tutorial box. It come with 2 shades of eye mineral makeup, a 2-ended brush and an instruction card on how to achieve 2 different Smoky Eye looks.

The card was a big help showing picture and word instructions. I was able to do both looks with minimal effort and the make up doesn’t cake up in the creases of my eye with is awesome.

On a side not Bare Escentuals is hosting an Re-Think What Matters campaign. Each Friday there is a new theme of questions and each week there are 500 instant winners of bareMinerals blush! Go check out the website and rethink what matters in YOUR life!

Bare Escentuals provided me with a second Smoky Eye Tutorial kit to giveaway!!
