My confession of the day is that Etsy is my nemesis.
Okay, nemesis is a pretty harsh word to use. Perhaps I should say it’s a danger zone. Once I start looking around in there I lose all concept of time. It amazes me how many awesomely creative people there are out there and Leah from Mya Bruce Designs ranks up there at the top.
I love hand stamped jewelry and own several pieces for various occasions. I have a necklace with the names of my kids on it already but it’s silver and I really wanted another tone of metal to wear with different outfits.
Probably what sets Mya Bruce Designs apart from the other stamped jewelry makers if the use of charms on their necklaces. Sure you can get the stand colored bead but there are so many other things that can make your necklace stand out. For instance take this necklace that has a photographer in mind.
It not only personalizes it more but it also adds a dynamic to the piece and, in my opinion, makes it that much more of a conversation piece.
What I also love about it is the different tones of metal used within just that one necklace. I remember when my mother told me that you could only wear silver with silver and gold with gold. This piece that proves that you can mix tones of jewelry and still get a stylish and chic accessory.

Susan offered to make me one of her Mom Custom Stamped Necklaces personalized with the names of my children. They are quite popular and once I received it I fell in love. After taking some photo’s outside near our grapes, (isn’t that color gorgeous??) I really inspected the craftsmanship. The names are hand struck and the metal has a brushed finish. I love the box chain that came with the necklace too. I’ve order other jewelry that has come with a cheap chain or even a nylon cord. The box shape of the links catches the light so it almost looks as if it’s sparkling.
Before I go I just have to share another piece of Susan’s that I am absolutely in love with! There earrings are simply gorgeous in my opinion. Excluding the pearls, everything is handmade on these, including the ear wires.
The piece I received had so many colors it was ridiculous. It was a deep blue with hints of purple, green, gold and more. I paired it on a simple silver chain and wore it with a cute white top so that I wouldn’t take anything away from the pendant itself. Apparently my plan worked! I received so many compliments that I was wishing I had gotten several cards from Northern Possessions to hand out. Several people actually took a closer look just so they could see all the different colors and so see what it was made out of. It was a pleasure to wear!
In addition to the pendant they also sent me an adorable Christmas ornament. What I love about the ornament is the detail in it. It’s not a smooth piece of glass but is ridged and includes beautiful “ornaments” of altering colors. The silver wire twined around the tree gives it the right touch of garland. I can’t wait to put this on our tree in December and watch the different colors of the lights shine through.
