All in a name – Mya Bruce Designs

My confession of the day is that Etsy is my nemesis.

Okay, nemesis is a pretty harsh word to use. Perhaps I should say it’s a danger zone. Once I start looking around in there I lose all concept of time. It amazes me how many awesomely creative people there are out there and Leah from Mya Bruce Designs ranks up there at the top.

I love hand stamped jewelry and own several pieces for various occasions. I have a necklace with the names of my kids on it already but it’s silver and I really wanted another tone of metal to wear with different outfits.

mya bruce designsProbably what sets Mya Bruce Designs apart from the other stamped jewelry makers if the use of charms on their necklaces. Sure you can get the stand colored bead but there are so many other things that can make your necklace stand out. For instance take this necklace that has a photographer in mind.

It not only personalizes it more but it also adds a dynamic to the piece and, in my opinion, makes it that much more of a conversation piece.

What I also love about it is the different tones of metal used within just that one necklace. I remember when my mother told me that you could only wear silver with silver and gold with gold. This piece that proves that you can mix tones of jewelry and still get a stylish and chic accessory.

Susan K. Jewelry | Giveaway (ENDED)

I’m a sucker for jewelry. Although I only wear a few pieces everyday like my wedding ring, earrings, and my gold cross necklace that my husband gave me for my 29th birthday. (And yes it was REALLY my 29th birthday not the 2nd anniversary of my 29th birthday.)

I’ve come to realize that the jewelry I choose to wear always has a meaning or is something that I hold close to my heart. Susan K. Jewelry offers customized jewelry that will be meaningful and held close to the heart of the recipient.

SusanKJewelrySusan offered to make me one of her Mom Custom Stamped Necklaces personalized with the names of my children. They are quite popular and once I received it I fell in love. After taking some photo’s outside near our grapes, (isn’t that color gorgeous??) I really inspected the craftsmanship. The names are hand struck and the metal has a brushed finish. I love the box chain that came with the necklace too. I’ve order other jewelry that has come with a cheap chain or even a nylon cord. The box shape of the links catches the light so it almost looks as if it’s sparkling.

I put it on that day and I have not taken it off since. Where ever I am I can touch the necklace and feel like my kids are with me. They also love that I wear something with their names on it. They like to point out which on is theirs. 🙂

Susan doesn’t just create pendants, she also crafts earrings, key chains, rings and more. Here is a little more about Susan.

Ever since I was a child, I was always creating and learning as many new mediums as possible.I presently love working with different metals such as copper, silver and brass as well as the textures that one can create with them. I have also found joy in giving back to others by teaching for the past three years and passing on the knowledge that I have acquired. I have enjoyed the new friendships and sharing the passion to create as well. I hope you enjoy my jewelry creations and hope they make you feel good. I make necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and accessories. Many of my items are personalized with names, dates, initials or quotes. I love working with mixed metals such as copper, sterling silver and brass as well as semiprecious stones. I especially enjoy hand stamping and hammering. I will be happy to create a custom order, just contact me and we can create together! What I love the most about the custom stamped pieces are that each one tells a life story.

Susan K EarringsBefore I go I just have to share another piece of Susan’s that I am absolutely in love with! There earrings are simply gorgeous in my opinion. Excluding the pearls, everything is handmade on these, including the ear wires.

So are you ready the best news?

Now a treasured possession!

I am still talking about the EVO conference to basically anyone that will listen. But I really want to tell you about a very special opportunity that I had and I got to share it (sort of) with all that I met that weekend.

Prior to leaving for the conference Northern Possessions sent me a beautiful pendant to wear. Northern Possessions is a New Hampshire based Art Glass Studio, specializing in all things gorgeous! From jewelry to tableware there is bound to be something for everyone.

Northern Possessions Pendant Close upThe piece I received had so many colors it was ridiculous. It was a deep blue with hints of purple, green, gold and more. I paired it on a simple silver chain and wore it with a cute white top so that I wouldn’t take anything away from the pendant itself. Apparently my plan worked! I received so many compliments that I was wishing I had gotten several cards from Northern Possessions to hand out. Several people actually took a closer look just so they could see all the different colors and so see what it was made out of. It was a pleasure to wear!

The prices for jewelry pieces are $26 which I think is a good value because this are one of a kind pieces. They are all different in shape, size and the colors within, so unlike clothing you won’t have to worry about someone showing up with the same jewelry. 😉

Northern Possessions OrnamentIn addition to the pendant they also sent me an adorable Christmas ornament. What I love about the ornament is the detail in it. It’s not a smooth piece of glass but is ridged and includes beautiful “ornaments” of altering colors. The silver wire twined around the tree gives it the right touch of garland. I can’t wait to put this on our tree in December and watch the different colors of the lights shine through.

The Tree Ornaments are $8 each or you if you want to decorate your whole tree you can purchase 3 for $22. Again, because these are handmade no two are the same, so the value is there. There are also two designs to choose from. Clear glass or the lavender color that is shown to the right.

If you don’t like the trees they also offer doves, snowmen, and stockings.

Northern Possessions is always adding to their inventory so if you don’t quite see something you want just wait. 🙂 Also, soon they will offer Kaleidoscopes, Vases, Fireplace Screens and more. I can’t wait to see the kaleidoscopes, I can only imagine how amazing they will be.

One of the highlights of the EVO conference was meeting Amy from Mom Made That who made this review possible.
