eskimO Kisses

How does one explain the band One eskimO??

OneeskimOLet’s see, put together Dave Matthews Band and Five for Fighting and you’re getting close. Now mind you I love both Dave Matthews and Five for Fighting so when I first popped in One eskimO’s  CD “All Balloons” and heard “Amazing” I thought, yep, that’s just what this is. I’ve been listening to it nonstop for a week now. It’s also perfect working music. I’ve got my own little desk set up in the living room right next to the couch and while the kids are outside playing and I play in on my laptop in the background. Every once in a while my kids will come in and say, “Mom we can hear you singing outside.” I wonder how many of my neighbors are thinking “SHUT UP.” ;)

One eskimO is an English band created and fronted by Kristian Leontiou who is the singer-songwriter, it includes musicians Pete Rinaldi (guitar), Jamie Sefton (bass, horns) and Adam Falkner (drums).

And seriously.. they have a song called “Chocolate,” need I say more?!?

One eskimO will be heading out on tour:

  • Jun 01 Toronto, ON The Guvernment
  • Jun 03 New York, NY The Beach at Governor’s Island
  • Jun 04 Boston, MA House of Blues
  • Jun 05 Essex Junction, VT Camplain Valley Expo
  • Jun 06 Hunter, NY Mountain Jam Festival
  • Jun 08 Royal Oak, MI Royal Oak Music Thtr
  • Jun 09 Grand Rapids, MI Orbit Room
  • Jun 12 Memphis, TN Minglewood Hall
  • Jun 13 Kansas City, MO Crossroads
  • Aug 14 Denver, CO Mile High Festival

And I can’t leave you without giving you a taste of their music. Here is the video for their song “Kandi” which is the current #1 adult alternative song.

Why Does Gray Matter?

Alright.. I’m giving in.

I’ve realized that there is no way I will be able to post the rest of the giveaways today so I’m extending the Birthday Event until FRIDAY!!

So today up for grabs we have a great new CD that was just released on February 9th!

“Why Does Gray Matter” is the latest release from award winner musician Roger Day. What I love most about this album is that it’s not just music, it’s a learning experience! The album features 14 original songs that each emphasize the wonders and mysteries of the human brain. Roger encourages kids to “use their noodles” and let’s them know that, contrary to what they may hear elsewhere, it IS cool to be smart!

My favorite track has to be the title song, “Why Does Gray Matter.” I just love the a catchy chorus and this one has it! The kids can sing along and honestly I’d rather them listen to music over and over again than to watch TV for long stretches of time.

I would love to share this CD with you! My good friends at Waldmania PR are offering my readers their own copy!

Unofficial Holiday Gift Guide : Music Lovers

Do you have a music lover in the family?
GiftGuide2009

Music is a big part of my everyday life. My kids and I have music hour at least twice a day. Why twice you ask? Well, the first hour they can listen to their music and the second hour they are exposed to the music that I love. Several weeks ago One2One Network sent me a free download for Five for Fighting‘s latest album “Slice”.

I’ve been a fan of John Ondrasik for several years. As a matter of fact when my husband and I were married I gave him tickets to see a local golf tournament. Much to my surprise, and joy, John was performing a free concert at the close of the days play. It was just him playing the keyboards and guitar. It was so unbelievable to see him perform my favorite songs from AmericaTown and The Battle for Everything. His mom was even there!

Anywho, Slice is just another great correlation of songs from this fantastic singer/song writer. The song “Chances” will be featured on the new film “The Blind Side” starring Sandra Bullock.

Song List:

1. Slice
2. Note To The Unknown Soldier
3. Tuesday
4. Chances
5. This Dance
6. Above The Timberline
7. Transfer
8. Hope
9. Story Of Your Life
10. Love Can’t Change The Weather
11. Augie Nieto

Being a military wife, “Note to the Unknown Soldier” touches me more than I could ever express. It brings tears to my eyes and warms my heart at the same time. I know that’s a contradiction but one of the things that I love about John Ondrasik is his support for the men and women in the armed forces. This song brings to mind the sacrifice of those that put their lives on the line for our country every day. In the song he tells the story of an unknown soldier who he calls Sam.
He wonders who Sam was, what life he left behind and thanks him for all he did.

The last verse probably touches me the most:

You make me happy and sad
If you were here, I’d buy the beers
I’d shake your hand and say good man
And though the sun would shine about the same
It’s a better world because you came
Sincerely yours, my kids will know your name

I plan on including this CD into our care package to our adopted solider. I hope he enjoys it as much as I have.

*Disclosure: I received this CD free from One2One network. It by no means altered my opinion of the CD*

Crazy in Love for Crazy Love!

So I’m a two-timing music whore..*sigh*

I’ve already confessed my love for HCJ in this post. And now here I am about to tell you that I’m afraid I can no longer be a blogger because I will be too busy stalking both HCJ AND Michael..

MichaelBublePublicity Michael Bublé that is.

I mean seriously??!? You wanna stalk him now too right?

If looking at him isn’t enough, you should check out his new album Crazy Love which just hit stores on October 9th.

If you don’t know who Michael Bublé is, first, where have you been hiding because it must be a damn good place and I could certainly use a place like that when I need a few minutes from the kids, and secondly, he’s the guy that sang the hit songs “Home” and “Sway”.

He’s a cool crooner that can sing me to sleep any night he wants. Oh, but wait, yes I remember he said, “Haven’t Met You Yet.”

Quite true my love you haven’t. But he did write that whole song about me. Ok, FINE! He didn’t but I’m just stalker enough to believe that he did.

If you want to know more about my man Michael Bublé check out his website at www.michaelbuble.com or his Facebook Page.

So back to his latest album. As the title of this post says I’m “Crazy in Love for Crazy Love!” If you have liked some of the previous songs by Michael then you will not be disappointed by this CD. Mr. Bublé does some great covers on this album like his rendition of “Georgia On My Mind.” Here check out the song list:

MichaelBubleCover

Album Tracklisting:
1. Cry Me A River
2. All Of Me
3. Georgia On My Mind
4. Crazy Love
5. Haven’t Met You Yet
6. All I Do Is Dream Of You
7. Hold On
8. Heartache Tonight
9. You’re Nobody Till Somebody Loves You
10. Baby (You’ve Got What It Takes)
11. At This Moment
12. Stardust
13. Whatever It Takes (bonus track)

I’ve highlighted my 4 favorite songs. But really it was hard to narrow it down. MB has such a velvet voice that he could sing me the ingredients from my shampoo bottle and I would fall in love with it!

But really you should check out his album because the lyrics are so much better than the ingredients of my shampoo. I mean there is nothing romantic about hearing Methylchloroisothiazolinone. But once you listen to the lyrics of “Haven’t Met You Yet” you’ll see what I mean. What?!? You don’t believe me?

Take a little listen for yourself!

You can purchase “Crazy Love” at

I’m thinking maybe I shouldn’t have used the word “stalker” so many times in this post..DAMN! I just did it again.. Oh well!

*Disclamer: CD from One2one Network. Confessions of unrequited love for Michael Bublé, all mine!*

Once upon a stalker..

Growing up, my parents listened to music from the 50′s and 60′s. We’re talking Frankie Valli, The Platters, Brenda Lee, and the Everly Brothers. Obviously, I ended up loving this music. My husband frequently teases me because he’s 10 years older but my music tastes are much more mature.

When I entered college I took a Music Appreciation class and tt was the coolest class ever! We studied each era of music, listened to various artist, and then write our opinion.

This is when I was introduced to “crooners”. I fell in LUV with Frank Sinatra. (Yes, thats love with an L-U-V!) And yes, I know there was a possibility that he was affiliated with the Mob but come on..admit it.. you play Mafia Wars!

Anyway, I lurved Frank so much that I wrote my term paper on him. :)

Then my husband suggested I listen to Harry Connick Jr.  At the first moment I heard his voice I knew that he was the man that would have been my husband if my actual husband hadn’t snatched me up first.

I’m drooling just looking at this picture! Is he not the most delicious thing EVER?!?

So, after hearing Harry Connick, Jr’s voice my affair with Frank declined. It was replaced with ALL things Harry.

I own all but 2 of Harry’s albums. Considering Harry currently has 26 albums out, I’d say I am FAN-atic!

Let me put it this way. I am 2 albums away from being a stalker. However, if there were money in it I would gladly  forgo the 26 album requirement and stalk Harry. Anyone want to sponsor me? No? FINE!

Back to the point, my boyfriend favorite singer, Harry just released his newest album “Your Songs” on September 22nd. “Your Songs” features 14 songs, 12 of which are covers by some of the greatest artists of all time, (including Frank Sinatra.) And thanks to my friends at One2One Network, I was able to get the CD before it was released in stores..hee hee..

I have been listening to this CD when I’m cooking dinner and baking. It totally transports me to a different place. A place in which there are no screaming kids or messy living rooms. Just me and Harry in a romantic setting with him singing “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.”

*Sigh*

To be transported to a location of your creation, buy “Your Songs”, available at AMAZON, TARGET and WALMART.

Also, you can see my future lover Harry TONIGHT on the Letterman Show and tomorrow morning on the Today Show.

On a side note…Harry’s version of “It Had To Be You” was my wedding song. See, stalker material.

*Disclaimer: I received “Your Songs” for free from One2One Network in exchange for this review.*
